How do you start to rebuild trust when you have been lied to so often. My grandson has got into the habit of lying. I have explained i know why he lies because he doesnt want to get into trouble. But it cannot continue. Any suggestions on how to handle this problem

Hi, I understand that this is a difficult situation. It must be disheartening to try to build a relationship with someone who has gotten this habit. Have you discussed this with his parents? Perhaps, the next time he lies to you, that's the end of the conversation. You have to do something that shows you will not tolerate this behaviour.
