My son is being bullied. Originally it was one particular child which I have spoken to the school about previously. I recently wrote a letter to the head teacher about it but had no response. Since then things have only got worse & my son is scared to go to school. What should I do next and where can i turn?

Hi I am sorry to hear that your son is experiencing bullying and it must be so disheartening to have not received a response from the headteacher. How would you feel about asking for a meeting with the headteacher? I would recommend that you get a copy of their anti bullying policy, safeguarding policy and behaviour policy as this shows you what their duty of care is towards your son. I would ask for a meeting with the headteacher and the safeguarding officer too. I am not sure how old your son is but that fact that he is petrified to go to school is a serious concern and it is not fair on him. I would also recommend that you look at our link on what to do if the school does not resolve the bullying and also get in touch with our support team via email at askus@familylives.org.uk. I hope this helps.
