Gavmire
Our little girl is 7 years of age and like to talk a lot, which we do not mind but sometimes she has no filter and believe that she and adults are on the same level. She always in an argument with her brother which is 9 years old but they cant live without each other.

She refuses to hear us when we given her instructions especially when its bed time . She always telling us it i boring when its bed time , she practically says everything gets bored. She tend to say this when she need to keep quiet and either go bed or shower, so basically an excuse.

She gets angry very easily , and she can be the nicest person in the world when she is ready . At school she gets rewarded of best behavior on a regular basis , which surprise us.

We worked out that there is a possibility she is dyslexia  and the school have picked up on reasons to believe so. We are trying to get help for her in respective of that. They have also said that she have a short term memory . However, what could have triggered her to have such an awful behavior at times  (everyday)

Hi, I understand that this is a difficult situation. Perhaps the difficulty she is have with what is maybe dyslexia is frustrating her and effecting her behaviour. She may also have too much energy and might need things to do before she's ready to do what you want, under-stimulation can make children cranky. If you're worried about her behaviour, you can always discuss it with your GP and she could be referred for assessment if you think it's necessary. You may find it helpful to read our articles on childhood behaviour. If you feel you need further support please e-mail us at askus@familylives.org.uk or call our freephone helpline on 0808 800 2222.
