Hi, I understand that this is a difficult situation. It sounds like the main issue is your adult daughter. Currently it is quite difficult to move someone but it can be done. If she's refusing to move out, perhaps the local council could help, if you're not already in contact with them. There might also be local housing groups/charities that your local council would know of. If things get to a point where you cannot handle them, the police are an option though I would understand your reluctance to contact them. You may find the Shelter website helpful. If you need somewhere to talk about your younger daughter, Young Minds might be helpful to contact, they're an organisation that helps families with children with mental health issues, on 0808 802 5544. If you feel you need further support please e-mail us at askus@familylives.org.uk or call our freephone helpline on 0808 800 2222.
